Our Name
The fire service is known for its attention to detail when forming tactics and strategies for various rescues and fire combat. This also bleeds over into the tools they use for various maneuvers. Once a tool is used, a critical and thought provoking discussion takes place… well it’s more of a roundtable, no holds barred, type of atmosphere, but this is where we ask the critical question, “How can we make it better?” And that is where the story of the Halligan tool begins.
It was in the late 1940’s when FDNY Deputy Chief Hugh Halligan crafted the first Halligan tool. The design came after less efficient tools became burdensome to the job. These old tools were heavy, bulky, and did not always accomplish the desired outcomes. When a firefighter is in route to a “job” or an emergency call they begin processing what tools they will need to effectively accomplish their mission efficiently. They do not want to bring multiple tools nor do they want to bring the wrong tool as this will slow down the mission and possibly put someone’s life in jeopardy. Chief Halligan knew this and wanted to “make it better”. He wanted a tool that was strong, reliable, trustworthy, and able to do more than one task. He knew that if he “made it better” he would be protecting the lives of the citizens he had sworn to serve. Chief Halligan was thinking of his customers, the citizens of New York.
Today, the Halligan tool is on every fire engine and fire truck in the nation. It is the most reliable, strong, and trustworthy tool on the rig.
Just like the Halligan tool, Halligan Roofing holds to those three values: reliability, strength, and integrity. We at Halligan Roofing want to “make it better” by putting our customers first and accomplishing our mission of service. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and “make it better”.
